The details of how Pickman got kicked out of Harvard as as follows:
He snuck into city morgues and took photographs of recently deceased Harvard students, and painted post-mortem portraits of them from the photographs. When the project, titled "Student Bodies," came under fire, he quite publically and colourfully insulted every school official involved in the criticism, and possibly the parents of the dead students.
It was probably a fairly well-publicised incident locally, and maybe received a smattering of national coverage too.

Fandom (series of origin) or OC: Lovecraft, "Pickman's Model."
If your character is not from Nolan'verse, how do you think you'll need to adapt them Narrows'canon? Take out aaaall the Lovecraft stuff, the ghouls and such, and update him for the modern era.
Age: 22
Short Bio: Richard Upton Pickman was born in Boston, Massachussets, to an old-money WASP family. They have no idea where they went wrong with him.
He attended Harvard University, as his family had for generations, and was kicked out within two years for the controversial content of his art and his very vocal refusal to tone down the subject matter. (Calling the dean a 'motherlicking shitfucker who wouldn't know art if it raped his whore of a mother' probably didn't help.)
He lived in Boston for a while after that, making a bit of a name for himself with his art, but when news of just how batshit insane Gotham City had gone started filtering out, he knew that that was where he was meant to be. In a city actively, gloriously decaying, going mad.
He sold everything he owned (except his art supplies), and was on a Greyhound bus within the week. Currently, he's living off savings and inheritance money, and friendly local soup kitchens, as he gets to know the city and its inhabitants and art scene.
Powers: Incredibly strong stomach. l33t painting skillz.
